Cristaliza no sistema monocl\u00ednico e ocorre com h\u00e1bito prism\u00e1tico, fibroso ou maci\u00e7o. Suas cores variam do branco ao verde escuro, podendo tamb\u00e9m ser cinza ou amarelada, com brilho v\u00edtreo ou sedoso. Possui dureza entre 5 e 6, densidade de 2,9 a 3,1, clivagem perfeita em dois planos e fratura irregular a fibrosa. Forma-se em rochas metam\u00f3rficas ricas em carbonatos de c\u00e1lcio e magn\u00e9sio, como m\u00e1rmores dolom\u00edticos e rochas ultram\u00e1ficas. Algumas variedades fibrosas s\u00e3o classificadas como asbesto, hoje restrito por riscos \u00e0 sa\u00fade. \u00c9 usada em estudos geol\u00f3gicos e valorizada por colecionadores. Pode tamb\u00e9m ocorrer \ncomo resultado da metamorfose de calc\u00e1rios e dolomitos ricos em s\u00edlica.\n  <\/span>\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"with-arrow\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.8em; font-size: 1.1em; font-weight: bold; display: block;\">Usos:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"custom-square\" style=\"line-height: 1.8;\">\n  <li><strong>Industrial:<\/strong> Algumas variedades fibrosas de tremolita s\u00e3o classificadas como formas de asbesto\n\t   (anfib\u00f3lio asbestiforme), utilizado historicamente como material \n\t  isolante e resistente ao fogo. Contudo, seu uso foi amplamente \n\t  restringido ou banido devido aos riscos \u00e0 sa\u00fade (doen\u00e7as respirat\u00f3rias \n\t  graves, como asbestose e mesotelioma).<\/li>\n  <li><strong>Cient\u00edfico:<\/strong> Estudo em petrologia metam\u00f3rfica como indicadora de condi\u00e7\u00f5es de forma\u00e7\u00e3o (temperatura e press\u00e3o).<\/li>\n  <li><strong>Colecionismo:<\/strong> Cristais bem formados e agregados fibrosos ou radiados s\u00e3o apreciados por colecionadores de minerais.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"with-arrow\" dep\u00f3sitos associados a rochas ultram\u00e1ficas.<\/li>\n  <li>Estados Unidos \u2013 Calif\u00f3rnia, Nova York e Montana.<\/li>\n  <li>Brasil \u2013 Presen\u00e7a em Minas Gerais e Bahia,
