No dia 08 de julho, a discuss\u00e3o sobre futebol e cultura no Brasil foi motivo suficiente para lotar o Audit\u00f3rio Paulo Freire, no Instituto de Ci\u00eancias Humanas e Sociais. O evento \u201cAs Ci\u00eancias Sociais e o Esporte\u201d contou com a participa\u00e7\u00e3o de pesquisadores da UFRRJ, da Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) e da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Get\u00falio Vargas (FGV).<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\">\u201cFutebol e Cultura no Brasil\u201d foi o tema da mesa que abriu o evento com a participa\u00e7\u00e3o dos pesquisadores Leda Costa, do N\u00facleo de Pesquisas sobre Esporte e Sociedade da UFF (NEPESS\/UFF) e Bernardo Buarque de Hollanda, da FGV. Quem mediou a discuss\u00e3o foi o professor \u00c9dison Gastaldo, do curso de Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o Social, da Rural.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\">O historiador Bernardo Buarque de Hollanda falou sobre a origem e o futuro das torcidas organizadas do Rio de Janeiro, al\u00e9m de muitas curiosidades sobre o tema. O assunto fez parte da tese de doutorado do palestrante e acabou virando o livro \u201cO clube como vontade e representa\u00e7\u00e3o: O jornalismo esportivo e a forma\u00e7\u00e3o das torcidas organizadas de futebol do Rio de Janeiro\u201d, publicado pela editora 7 letras.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\">Quem compareceu ao evento p\u00f4de saber, por exemplo, que a primeira torcida organizada do Brasil foi a Charanga do Flamengo, criada em 1942 pelo baiano Jaime de Carvalho, que tamb\u00e9m foi o chefe da torcida da Sele\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira. Buarque de Hollanda contou ainda que Jaime foi o respons\u00e1vel por inserir nas torcidas os instrumentos musicais que carnavalizaram as arquibancadas.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\">As primeiras torcidas foram criadas com o intuito de organizar os torcedores. Havia na \u00e9poca um certo medo das conseq\u00fc\u00eancias da aglomera\u00e7\u00e3o de pessoas, inclusive em termos pol\u00edticos. No come\u00e7o, inclusive, era proibido nos est\u00e1dios qualquer tipo de manifesta\u00e7\u00e3o como vaias ou xingamentos. O pesquisador tamb\u00e9m creditou ao Jornalismo esportivo a populariza\u00e7\u00e3o do esporte no Brasil. Buarque de Hollanda lembrou que o jornalista M\u00e1rio Filho foi um grande incentivador do futebol ao promover concursos que premiavam as torcidas mais animadas. O nome oficial do est\u00e1dio do Maracan\u00e3, \u00e9 \u2018Est\u00e1dio M\u00e1rio Filho\u2019 em homenagem ao jornalista.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\">Tamb\u00e9m foram comentados alguns momentos menos nobres do esporte. Segundo o historiador, em 1983 foi criada a primeira torcida com o declarado intento de usar viol\u00eancia para impor respeito. A palmeirense Mancha Verde, de S\u00e3o Paulo, foi a precursora das violentas torcidas organizadas que a sucederam. Ele acredita que a nova era do futebol tem \u201cre-elitizado\u201d os est\u00e1dios, trazendo uma nova estrutura de seguran\u00e7a, com c\u00e2meras de monitoramento e vigil\u00e2ncia. As novas torcidas t\u00eam seguido, com influ\u00eancia dos meios de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o e dos clubes, o princ\u00edpio de apoio incondicional ao time, roubando, assim, a cena dos antigos grupos de torcedores, conclui o professor.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;text-indent: 35.4pt\">A professora Leda Costa palestrou sobre o surgimento e as transforma\u00e7\u00f5es que o jornalismo esportivo sofreu durante os anos. Apontou o jornalista Mario Filho como o pioneiro nessa \u00e1rea que era pouco valorizada nos jornais do pa\u00eds e confirmou a influ\u00eancia do c\u00e9lebre jornalista no desenvolvimento da editoria de esporte.
