Nascido no Esp\u00edrito Santo,veio para o Rio em 1967, para estudar Agronomia na UFRRJ. Segundo a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/dahis.ufrrj?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">p\u00e1gina oficial do DaHis<\/a> no Facebook, Jos\u00e9 \u201cfoi preso durante o XXX Congresso Nacional da UNE, que ocorreu em Outubro de 1968, na cidade de Ibiuna\/SP.
